If I had been a paying spectator, I would have asked for my money back. Andy Murray had already written his losers speech before he went on court. He never, at any time, looked as though he thought he could win a point, never mind a game or even the match.
I thought he just went out to give Nadal a practice session. There were many times in the match when Murray could have played to the open court, but for some reason he just kept knocking it straight back to Nadal.
That's not to take anything away from the task Murray faced. Nadal is clearly head and shoulders above virtually everyone in the game. But the effort from Murray was, I thought, appalling.
And don't give me that cr4p about Murray being tired from the previous match. If he's not going to be able to handle this sort of competition at his age, the prime of his life, then he should give up now and find himself a proper job.
