How do you get tickets if you can't queue due to illness and don't belong to a tennis club. I would like to get my sister a special birthday prresent and she has always wanted to go.

Like life it is a lottery. The public ballot runs from August until mid December.
You need to send a SAE to:
AELTA
P.O. Box 98
London
SW19 5AE
They will then issue you with a form which needs to be completed and returned. Then if you are successful you will be offered a pair of tickets early next year. You have no choice as to which day and therefore the cost, but if they are not suitable you don't bother to reply in which case they will be offered to someone on the reserve list.
It is only one application per household.
