Tony seems to have called it right last week when he asked " why resign if youre innocent ?"
There was no papal smoke from the cardinal , but certainly there was smoke and fire where he was concerned on these allegations it seems.

The Catholic church seems to lurch from one crisis to another. How they retain their credability is beyond me.
The fundamentals/principles of most religious theory are to be admired, it is a shame that they are not upheld by some of the people that are mean't to teach and guide us about these principles.

From the age of 13-16 I went to an all boys Catholic Grammar school and four priests that ran/taught were genuine 'men of the cloth' and nothing will change my mind on their faith.
obrien is a pedophile (allegedly) though and his own undoing but it shouldn't cloud every institution, although it does.
The fact that he's admitted about it, after the pope has decided to step down does make one laugh.
Plenty more skeletons in the closet, I'm sure.

I think a lot of hypocrisy with regards to sexuality stems from the very top in the Vatican itself. And I believe that is why the Pope resigned, because he was prevented from doing anything about it.
