Sporting Moments

Further to Mighty's question below, what are the great sporting moments? My top five would be
Gareth Edwards' try for the Barbarians v the All Blacks in 1973
Ian Bothams 149 Not Out in the 2nd innings in the Headingly test v Australia in 1981.
Pele seeming to run the entire length of that stadium in Mexico in 1970, just to swap shirts with Bobby Moore after one of the great games of football.
Steve Redgrave's 5th Olympic Gold
Kelly Holmes' 1st Olympic Gold

The five that have had the biggest impact on me:

1.17th May 1997. Robert DiMatteo scoring after 42 seconds in FA Cup Final.
2. Desert Orchid winning 1989 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
3. Torvill and Dean, Sarajevo 1984.
4. England v Australia test series 2005 (especially Edgbaston)
5. Steve Redgrave (with a little help from Pinsent, Foster and Cracknell), Sydney 2000.

Yesterday's Federer - Nadal match will probably be one, but it's too recent to assess properly. I'd go for:

France v West Germany at the 1982 World Cup. An absolutley stunning game, and the World Cup's first pernalty shoot-out; though sadly it's remembered more for Scumacher's foul on Battiston.
Edgbaston 2005, as per Lesisblue
The 4th set tiebreak in the first Borg-McEnroe final at Wimbledon.. Taylor-Davis on the black, 1985
The Charlton - Sunderland play-off final.

Though in an hour's time I'd have thought of several more!
