i think it's a term used in Snowboarding when the board vibrates at speed

Looks like your right, brian.

It was a question in a prize quiz and I had to hand it in. I went with someone else's suggestion of skiing. I don't know whether they'll accept it, I did find some references to skiing, but it seems more of a snowboarding reference.
