formation

do you think rooney plays too deep when playing for england is a good thing to see him drift to the left and joe cole come inside and link with owen? does barry have the necessary defensive discipline to provide an effective shield for gerrard allowing gerrard to bomb forward or should mcclaren persevere with lampard knowing estonia are a poor side, is micah richards wasted on the right and will wright phillips stick rigidly to the right flank employing hiself as a old fashioned winger or will he be restricted by defensive duties forcing him to track back as you all know frig all about football on here i expect sensible anwers when i return

Hello Bob, hope you are well. I have pondered England's formation and have decided to enlighten you on a few obvious facts. Regarding England's up and coming game v Estonia this coming Saturday it is clear to the football purest that even though this is a vital qualifying game Cole and Terry will clearly be rested for the up and coming and clearly more important fixture against Russia on Wednesday due to suspensions hanging over their heads and the risk is too great.
In relation to your views on Rooney, Owen and Cole it is clear that Cole, even though he seems to be comfortable in the role on the wide left, still is a right footed player and will continue to cut in onto his right foot which is why he will always be a make weight until we produce a left sided player capable to fill this position at England level. Rooney will always have to come deep as he does for club, as it is clear to anyone that Owen is only capable of feeding off flick ons and has no positives to his game when expected to control or hold up play ( which is why he demanded Heskey to do his dirty work ) where as Rooney's all round game is more adapted to picking the ball up deep turning and running at players to greater effect ( and why the answer is probably Crouch and Rooney in the long run ).
In regards to Barry he will continue to play in this midfield role for the up and coming game instead of Lampard but Barry is clearly not the answer when we have the bigger Internationals as he is not the finished article. Richards will continue on the right (where he will flourish as he gets games under his belt at International level until he makes the transition to Centre half ) whilst on the right he will also protect Wright - Phillips who has no reverse gear and rarely delivers a telling cross leading to him being dropped in favour of Lennon once he recovers from injury . So expect a 3-0 dour England win.x :-P

Lol Katie

With a balanced midfield Rooney wont have to come back looking for it, he will get the ball going forward which is how he plays best ball into feet running at people.

Not back on the halfway line with his back to goal

No it's a fix your honour, I contend that there is a conspiracy here, katie has simply used the cut and paste method to present what the prosecution will show is actually a plagurised response, and further, the evidence will show that not only is bob in cahoots, but that there jodie is not as innocent as she professes. Always return to the evidence i say.

I dont fink Rooney has done owt for England for about 3 years since he got 4 goals in last Euro finals.

I think SWPcud be gud on the right as he has speed. Joe Cole has earned his place in left ad is creative.

Gerrard MUST play attacking centre midfield.

Barry has earned his place in midfield. Lamps must NEVER play centre with Gerrard in the team.

Richard is good at right back. A lot of fullbacks cant defend. He can. I think Ferdinand shud be dropped. Hes a bone idle arrogant get. Unfortunately Carragher has retired otherwise I wud say play him there.
