England's Oliver Wilson is in position to claim his first win on the European tour as he enters the final round of the Hong Kong Open with a one shot lead.

Wilson carded a third round of 65 to move ahead of Australia's Marcus Fisher, who began the round tied with Wilson for the lead, ending the day on 13-under-par.

The Englishman is one-shot ahead of Taiwan's Lin Wen-Tang, who carded a six-under 64, while German veteran Bernhard Langer is two shots further back after an incredible 63 on day three.

Wilson made a poor start to his third round, dropping a shot at the first, however, he bounced back in style.

Two birdies at the sixth and seventh got him back on track before making three more in four holes after the turn to move into the lead.

Wilson cemented his place at the top of the leaderboard with a final birdie at the 17th.

The 28-year-old has been a runner-up on the Tour eight times so far in his career but is yet to lift a title.

He came close a few weeks ago in Shanghai but lost out to Sergio Garcia in a playoff.

Wilson hopes that if he can maintain his good form the breakthrough will come soon.

He said: "I am very happy with today. Like I keep saying, if I can keep getting up there, I'll break through eventually, but each time I'm getting up there, I'm learning something. It's important tomorrow to try not to think about winning.

Wilson is wary that his lead is not unassailable and says he will have to produce more good golf in the final round in order to win.

He added: "I didn't look exactly, but there's a lot of people within one, two, three shots. And it's the type of course where if you get hot, you can really take it deep."
