By Mark FordhamManchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has defended the way in which England boss Fabio Capello criticised the Football Association (FA) for stripping John Terry of the captaincy. The Chelsea skipper had his armband taken from him by the governing body pending his trial in July over the alleged racial abuse of Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand. Capello was quoted in the Italian media as saying he "absolutely" did not agree with the FA's decision to strip Terry of the captaincy and Ferguson has moved to support the beleaguered coach. "There will have to be a coming together of the FA hierarchy and Fabio Capello because he's the team manager. Without question the most important person is the manager," the Scot was reported as saying. This is the second time in the last two years that Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy, having previously been sacked from his role in February 2010 following allegations over his alleged affair with a team-mate's girlfriend.
