City had led 2-1 going into the final five minutes of their game in Spain before goals from Karim Benzema and then Ronaldo sealed the three points for Jose Mourinho's men. Keeper Joe Hart had kept the Premier League champions in the game in the first half with a string of fine saves before City took an unexpected lead through Edin Dzeko. Marcelo's deflected strike brought the teams level before Aleksandar Kolarov's free kick flew straight in from wide on the right to leave City on the edge of victory. The other British team involved in Champions League action last night (September 18th) - Arsenal - got their campaign underway with a victory away at French champions Montpellier. Goals from Lukas Podolski and Gervinho were enough to give the Gunners a 2-1 win in France.
