By Tom WithamJose Mourinho is the man Chelsea want to be their next manager and they will pay whatever it takes to win him over. The Portuguese boss is currently in charge of Spanish giants Real Madrid, but the Daily Mail has reported that the Blues believe they can tempt him to leave. It is thought that as much as £25 million would be required in compensation in order to get him out of his contract at the Bernabeu, but Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to stump up the cash. After a poor season by their standards, the Russian knows a strong character is required to get the club back on track. "Such is Roman's determination to bring back Mourinho that he is prepared to top Jose's Madrid wages and pay compensation to buy out the remaining two years of his contract," a Stamford Bridge insider told the newspaper. As well as appointing Mourinho, Chelsea want to overhaul their squad this summer, with the likes of Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Michael Essien thought to be heading for the exit.
