Carlos Tevez could return for Man City, says Roberto Mancini By Matt Duxbury

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has suggested Carlos Tevez could still feature for the Premier League title hopefuls this season.

Despite previously claiming the 27-year-old striker was "finished" at the club, the Italian appears to have changed his stance after Tevez failed to negotiate a move away from Manchester in the January transfer window.

The Argentina international was expected to leave City following a much-publicised rift with Mancini, but reported interest from the likes of AC Milan and Paris St Germain failed to yield a transfer.

Tevez recently made an unauthorised trip to his home country, but Mancini indicated the door remains open for his return.

"If he comes back - and he is fit - it is possible," the manager said.

"Carlos is not an option at the moment but it is possible in the future if he comes back," he added.

Tevez, who has not appeared for City since refusing to warm up as a substitute during a Champions League match in September, has been named in the club's 25-man squad for the remainder of the season.ADNFCR-8000010-ID-801284131-ADNFCR
