Burnley have dubbed tabloid reports that Brian Laws is facing the sack after just 11 games in charge as "ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate".The Sun claimed on Wednesday that the Clarets had grown exasperated by a record of just one win in ten Premier League games that had seen them slip into the relegation zone. But Burnley rubbished the report hours later, insisting they would not take a leaf out of Hull City's book, who this week sacked manager Phil Brown with just nine games left in the season. "Burnley Football Club can confirm that contrary to a national media report, the club is not seeking a replacement for first team manager Brian Laws," a statement said." The club's chairman Barry Kilby added: "This is a ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate piece of journalism. "We are not in the process of looking for a replacement for Brian and everyone involved with Burnley Football Club is putting every ounce of effort into staying in the Premier League." Laws, who started his playing career at Burnley, was a surprise choice to succeed Owen Coyle when he joined Bolton Wanderers in January. The 48-year-old had recently been sacked by Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday and had never before coached a top flight club. Laws, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, has only chalked up one win while at Turf Moor, against West Ham United, while in the last month he has led his team to damaging 2-1 home defeats to Wolves and Portsmouth. Burnley currently lie in 18th place in the Premier League with 24 points from 30 games, with Wolves and West Ham United occupying the places above them with 27 points from 29 games.
