Brendan Rodgers not keen on Carroll loan move

Brendan Rodgers not keen on Carroll loan move By Mark Fordham

Liverpool will not allow Andy Carroll to leave on loan but manager Brendan Rodgers has said he will consider any "worthwhile" offers that come in for him.

It is thought that Liverpool want to recoup at least £20 million for the player they signed for £35 million from Newcastle in January 2011.

His former club have already made an offer to the Reds but it was turned down by the club's hierarchy because it was believed to have been a loan move with a view to a permanent deal worth around £13 million.

Rodgers has signed Roma striker Fabio Borini but he didn't rule out the possibility of Carroll staying with the club if he can settle into his way of playing.

However, the Northern Irishman told the Liverpool website: "If there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole."ADNFCR-8000010-ID-801410803-ADNFCR
