new book this week

For anyone who, like me, is a fan of

Poker

or even Victoria Coren's Poker column in the

Guardian

and

The Observer

... ... ...

VC has a book coming out on Thursday, called

For Richer For Poorer: A Love Affair With Poker

published by Canongate.

I think it will be a jolly book.

Hi JJ,, good weekend? luv a bit of Poker, got really hooked on it couple of yrs back, but calmed down since - got bit out of hand. Do you play often?

I don't know. VC won the EPT European Championship in 2006 ... won $1m (yes, calculated in dollars)

and she writes a very jolly poker column in the papers.

I don't really play. They do a Poker room at the Casino where I go to play BJ and Roulette. I haven't plucked up the courage to join in yet.

I don't think women are taken very seriously (although, that might be an advantage!).

One of our SABers called Jan1957 is quite a regular player.

Never underestimate a women poke rplayer - look at Helen Chamberlin (TV host). She iv very good & has won tournaments etc.. Blokes like to think they are better but at the end of the day alot comes down to the cards you get & how big your "Cahoonas" are when you are called... smile

I only ever bamble for fun ... not for profit.

But ... I do quite well at Blackjack.
