Come on, own up - who thought the Aussies were going to give us a pasting today ? I did for one. I have to eat my words ! Our boys were marvellous, especially the front 5, but a great all round performance. Even better will be the Aussie sniping in the papers tomorrow !! Can't wait.

As an England supporter for many years( and yes, I have travelled all over europe watching them) I have to agree with fbg40 when he says he thought England would get a pasting. I was happy to be wrong for once! England played a brilliant game and were worthy winners. I too would like to see the Aussie papers headlines in the morning. Well done to ALL the team

Yes, well done England - Australia didn't really turn up and all it needed was four penalties. But we hardly play total exciting rugby do we? France/NZ was a cracking game by comparison.
I bet at the end of the competition you can look at the number of tries scored by the qualifiers from the groups and England will be at the bottom.
Is rugby getting a bit like soccer now, get within the area and force a penalty - forget about getting the ball over the line?
