Teamwork won the Thirsk Hunt Cup on May 8th 1982 - seems like only yesterday! He was ridden by a claimer - S (I think it was Steve) Jewell. He won in a time of 1.36.2 for Ron Sheather and Jeff Smith.

Yearsley now holds the record in a time of 1.34.8 set in 1990.

I remember you and the horse well as I was working for Newmarket Bloodstock Agency in the house at the time. I was always popping over to see Ron and his secretary Jean Coxall.

Ron had taken Teamwork over from Guy Harwood and he was a top miler also winning at Royal Ascot and subsequently standing as a stallion.

James Eustace trains from that yard and my old office is his front room. He's got some nice horses now including War Artist a potential top sprinter/miler from South Africa.
