Ryder Cup

Is Phil Mickelson off the Ryder Cup team for some reason? He's in the World's top 4 and 2nd in last years American money list and, yet, he doesn't feature in the top 25 of the American Ryder Cup qualification. It'd be a shame as he's usually worth a point or 2 to Europe. BB

The American qualification system only includes the four major championships for 2007 so far - and if, as I suspect, Phil Mickelson has not performed that well in the majors this year, that would account for why he is not (yet, perhaps) in the top 25 of their Ryder points table. The process begins again for tournaments beginning on 1st January 2008 and continues until August 11th, Plenty of time for Phil to make it yet, though he might have to work for it!
