Liverpool away to athletico tie switched.

Tue 14/10/08 13:46

I'm all in favour for Athletico being punished. But who gettin punished the most here? i've my flights and all booked as have many in our supporters club and they change it on us. To me Athletico fans should have been prevented to travelling to Anfield or althou it make no difference to my flights being mucked up, play both ties at anfield. I feel the big wigs like Platini have not thought this thru exactly and for them and their big salaries it seems a fair action to take. But what about the normal fans? Has anyone else been affected by this?

Since when have UEFA helped out English fans? Its the "real" fans like yourself who will suffer, not Athletico. I don't think playing both games at Anfield would be fair to Marseille or PSV, but the sanctions against them should certainly have been tougher. I would suggest ground closure for a number of games in subsequent seasons as the best way to prevent the behaviour of their fans.

Anyway, I'm sure you will beat the greasy, bull-murdering b******s wherever the match is played.

Good luck.

On reflection last night I thought a much more severe punishment for Athletico would be to dock the 3 points from the Marseille game, £1m fine and refuse the club any prize money or reward gained from their campaign in the group. Lets see any club repeat the racist abuse if this is the yard stick that uefa was to go by
