A lot of asterisks probably represent what Michael Vaughan muttered under his breath when he was out for a golden duck today wink

Assuming that this was meant to be a serious question (and AB's censorship system has simply blanked out what it thinks is a 'naughty word') either look through the list of cricketing terms here
http://members.tripod.com/~sccwa/cktlist.html
to find your answer, or post again but adding an extra character into the middle of the 'naughty word' so that AB doesn't delete it.

Hi Chris.
I typed in the word ************* !!!!!!!!! Not sure why they asterisked that.

This is getting intriguing. Care to try again? Type the word replacing an a with a @, or an i with a 1.

I've just counted the number of asterisk (and remembered which 'naughty words' AB doesn't like).

My guess is that you typed in 'night w@tchman'. (AB doesn't like anything that contains a certain 4-letter word beginning with 't').

When a wicket falls close to the end of a day's play, the bowlers have 'got their eye in' and the light is often fading quickly. Whoever comes into bat will find it difficult to get used to the conditions and might lose his wicket quickly. So the captain will often send in an 'expendable' batsman (i.e. someone who would normally bat near the end of the order) to try and get through the last few overs, rather than send in the higher order batsman who was due to come in next. If this 'night w@tchman' successfully fends off the last few balls, and then gets out quickly the following day, the better batsman will come in while the bowlers have yet to 'warm up their attack' and when the light is probably far better than at the end of previous day.

Hi Chris.
Thanks for that, yes it was 'nightw@tchman', good detective work. Rather over sensitive the AnswerBank filter
system I'd say, although I must admit the offending term did pass my lips on more than one occasion watching the
England batsmen over the last 3 days.......................... lol
